Laura and I spent some time with Monty and Ike today. I love these big, beautiful, sloppy dogs. English Mastiffs. Big. Beautiful. Sloppy. Dogs. But man it is always a challenge to capture these guys photographically. They are so friendly and really have no sense of personal space. They are up in your hizzy all of the time… which is why they are so tough to photograph. I decided to hand hold my speedlight off camera today to get the lighting I wanted while still being able to stop the furious action. I also used this opportunity to sharpen my skills for the running of the bulls some day. Ole’!
Did I mention these dogs are big? Huge really.

Ohhh my. I am so moved by these photos of the boys, Hov. Amazing, amazing shots of the Ike-ster, oh, and Monty. Roger and I both just keep looking at them over and over. I love them so much Hovering. Thank you, thank you for capturing them the way you did. Gert
