Michael Moore visited Occupy Portland today and took some time to speak at a General Assembly that had gathered in Terry Schrunk Plaza.  A couple thousand people got to welcome Michael to town while one asshat wanted to challenge him.  It was cool to hear him speak, video to follow..

I recently found my PHISHBILL from Halloween 1998 when I made a Thompsonesque  assault on Las Vegas with a cadre of narcowarriors from the mountains of Colorado.  I remember being a lone figure, painted blue in a Tyvek bio hazard suit, grooving my way through the casinos and then through the Thomas & Mack Center for the show.  Security was on to me.. even amongst the freaks I was freaking people out  I survived that trip into the Zone but I am still not so sure about that trip to Vegas…  Oh Vegas.

I turned 43 today and decided to take a self portrait to mark the occasion.

So today I decided to join the Movember Movement, whose goal is to raise awareness about men’s health issues, specifically cancers that affect men.

From the Movember Website:  “The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.  Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st  clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month.  The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men.  Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.”

I have a history of “hair expression” (The Mohunk Diaries for instance) so this cause is right up my alley.  I am getting a late start, beginning a full 1/3 of the way through the month of Movember, but I am dedicated to growing a wonderful ‘stache and spreading the word wherever I grow, I mean go.

The funds raised through Movember’s US campaign benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Please visit my MoSpace page and make a donation, then hit the share button and share this with your friends and family, it will make all of us feel good.
