Our cat Bucket is a Maine Coon.  He is 5 months old and he is very big already, it’s his breed.  He is a constant source of entertainment for us and my new photo project.  Today I captured Bucket & Laura, my 2 loves, in some sort of a face off.  I imagine they are talking about me.  :-)  Beautiful.

Laura and I spent some time with Monty and Ike today.  I love these big, beautiful, sloppy dogs.  English Mastiffs.  Big.  Beautiful.  Sloppy.  Dogs.  But man it is always a challenge to capture these guys photographically.  They are so friendly and really have no sense of personal space.  They are up in your hizzy all of the time… which is why they are so tough to photograph.  I decided to hand hold my speedlight off camera  today to get the lighting I wanted while still being able to stop the furious action.  I also used this opportunity to sharpen my skills for the running of the bulls some day.  Ole’!

Did I mention these dogs are big?  Huge really.

We found a kitten drowning in a bucket of water and adopted him. His name is Bucket. Apparently Bucket suffered no trauma from “the incident.” The other day we found him covering our kitchen floor with water from the dog’s dish… Purrrr…

Our old friend Goat from Burning Man flew in from Austin with his girlfriend Dina.  They wanted to check out Portland for a couple of days so we hooked up with them to give some pointers.  Lady Gaga was playing in town and our friend Solovox was playing at the official afterparty.  With an off chance of seeing and photographing Gaga, we all headed out to Refuge for a couple of hours.  The party was off the hook but alas, no Gaga.

A couple of days ago I heard about a possible Banksy sighting here in Portland.  Seriously?  I had to check it out for myself and today I got a chance to stop by the wall outside Sweetpea Baking Co. at SE 12th & Stark.  I shot a couple of images because that is what I do.  Is it Banksy?  You be the judge.  One way or the other, the image is excellent and perfect for Portland.
